Victoria Baby Girl Newborn Photo Session

I just photographed this adorable baby girl’s 4 month milestone photo session and realised that I hadn’t blogged her newborn session!! It was definitely time to look back at her session and pull out some favourites to share with you 🙂

Mom and Dad wanted a mix of pastels; pinks, purples and some green too. I find most clients really let me have creative freedom to use the props and blankets that I like and mix in sweet little newborn hair accessories or bonnets when I like.

I feel so fortunate to have families entrust me with capturing baby’s first year. So far we have done maternity pictures, newborn baby photos, her 4 month session and still baby’s 9 month and one year celebration photo sessions are to come!! I love to use at least one or two of the same elements in each of the sessions so we can compare baby’s growth.

We are also now incorporating at least one digital backdrop into each gallery, making sure to remember this when photographing baby! That way I am able to create the image after the session in post production. You can see the beautiful butterfly backdrop that I was able to use in this session from my design partnership with the Heidi Hope Design Partners. I just love how perfectly this layout flowed with their chosen colour palette.

Newborn Baby Photography Session – David

This session was very close to my heart as Mum & Dad are dear friends of ours <3 This little boy has long been wished for and we were so excited when he finally arrived!! He is the most adorable baby and was such a chilled little guy during our session! We were able to do props, beanbag poses and parent shots and he slept and slept!!

I love to have parents pick out a couple of their favourite colours before a session that tie into a nursery colour scheme or colours they might like to have on their walls. Baby David’s nursery is mostly green so we wanted to pull that colour in as well as some blues. Earthy tones brought everything together.

Newborn baby picture sessions take place within 5-12 days after baby’s birth and my calendar fills up quickly. It is suggested that you book your newborn photographer at the beginning of your second trimester to guarantee room on their calendar around your baby’s estimated due date.
